Now that you’ve cleaned the model parts up and glued the legs/torso parts together I’ll explain pinning, which is really Stage 1 of the  ’50 Fabbo Expert Modeller’s Skills’ guidebook.

Firstly, ‘test fit’ the parts you’re going to glue together. When you have them lined up, try to work out where the middle is on one of the two surfaces to be joined. Now take your drill and…wait for it…drill a hole in there! You want a hole that’s 2, 3 or 4 millimetres deep depending on the size and weight of the pieces to be joined. Now, my amateur chums, take a piece of wire, insert into your newly drilled hole and clip it off so that it barely sticks out of the hole. Don’t glue it, it’s gonna get removed!

Line up and push your components together again really hard so that the poky wire makes a small dent on the surface of the other component. Now you know where to drill the second hole.
