Last year I ran several contests for people to win the chance to get their designs made into miniatures. Little did I know I would never get the chance to make them until this year! So for the time being I have closed the contests and to save memory space on my server, I have removed the losing entries until I can upgrade the package I have, at which point I'll probably put my favourites back up.

Ebric the Doomed
Hi there, I just finished reading the thrud comic and I saw
your ad so I decided to take a look at your site, love the miniatures, boris is
great.
I thought I'd send in a few piccies of my Live Role Play group for the miniature
design competition as we tried in the past to convert existing figures into our
LRP selves (no luck)
The unit is based around the worship of Thrud (yup the comic character) and as
such call ourselves
Thruddites and
drink,
fight, drink and act braindead (some of us act)
Anyway as I can't draw I have enclosed a photo for you to look at if
you will.
The pic is myself (as Ebric) with my Missus (as Auriol)
Nox the poncy mage and a shot of some of the group (I'm the one in the long coat
with no armour on)
Thank you

Centaur

This
is my first try at sculpting completely with greenstuff. Most
Centaurs
I`ve seen
look rather wimpy or are so heavily armoured they look more like machines so I
wanted to create something simplistic but looked more natural and was still
threatening I hope I`ve achieved this. The model itself is meant to be a Centaur
Lord and is more like 32mm scale as opposed to 28mm. Sorry about quality of
pictures ( I`m still trying to master the Digicam) if you`d like to see more
please let me know and I`ll try again, anyway hope you like it.
Dennis Brooker

He/it
is in service and worship of the god of worms and decay (that'd be the
hideous Netherlord called Beelzebub, I expect...Andy), I wont go into
talking fluff, I’ve included an alternative posture drawing- which shows
lowered weapon, head positioning is now tilted in order to inspect the severed
head and overall conveys a somewhat classical pose, alternative weapons could
also be designed. Hopefully I’ll find time to produce a painted version but as
I have a project strategy that has to be written by Monday its going to have to
wait.Cheers…

Kobolds
Kobolds are between three to four
feet tall and lean, with slightly elongated limbs, looking something like a
dog and a featherless chicken from hell (similar to the look of skeksis in
Dark Crystal without the size or bulk). Their heads are elongated and slender
with beaked mouths, with the a few fangs managing a length great enough to be
visible along the bone-snapping underbite. Perfectly round, lidless eyes pop
from the shadows of its high brow ridge and the cheeks are capable of holding
food, as they are scavengers by nature, and often have to eat on the run from
larger opponents. Kobold legs are designed for short leaps, making it easy for
them to hop into windows and across short obstacles, as well as making them
good climbers over rough terrain. Their toes are notable for raptor-like claws
which they use to rip pen their opponents flesh, and they frequently leap onto
prey and rend, a favored tactic of the
species. Kobolds have a short chicken tail
that wags when they get excited, which is disturbing to see when confronted
with a pack of them. Their
weapons are made from discarded metals
framed in bone, and they ornament their protruding spinal
ridge, as well as craft jewellery, with discarded chainmail and finger rings knotted with small
bones (chicken, baby, etc) and chicken feathers. More artistic kobolds will
craft spinal decorations using long feathers to give them a plumish
back to intimidate their prey. Kobold
bodies are hunched forward, which aids the
vicious creatures in stealth.
UPDATE:
I
worked up a front facial sketch for you
as well as ideas for a champion and a shaman. The front face needs no
explanation, but I thought of the following for the others, including notes
about the logic behind them. Hope you like them! On a side note, after
sending the last idea I realised I hadn't mentioned the colors I was
thinking of. I was thinking of them as bleached bone with a
grey-green tint and speckles (like pale mangalors from
the film The Fifth Element)
with a muddy chicken-pink in the folds and shadows of their skin (as opposed
to the traditional orangish-red of most kobolds), and a black-tipped tan
beak (like an upside down rooster beak if that makes sense). I know it's not traditional, but at the least, I hope you find it an entertaining read.
Keep making great minis, I have them all and cannot wait to play the game! Love the gritty feel!
